About Christine

Driven by a passion for coffee and the quest for perfect espresso, Christine connects with baristas, coffee schools and coffee connoisseurs around the world.
Christine's expansive research about coffee and how to make espresso was the start of a journey she now shares with her husband, Paul. Together their coffee crusade leads them all over Australia – from coffee plantations in the northern tropics to southern cities for discussions with coffee roasters and blenders.
Following in the footsteps of coffee history, they traversed Europe, collecting conversations with espresso experts and stories from coffee houses and museums ; wandered the Middle East, the traditional home of coffee; and explored deepest South America visiting coffee plantations and grand colonial cafes.
Christine is the ultimate coffee expert with over 20 years of experience in teaching and working in the hospitality industry. She established Coffee Education Network in 1999, a coffee training consultancy and helped thousands on their espresso journey – to appreciate the espresso concept more fully and improve their espresso techniques.
She is the author of the Perfect Espresso series of coffee books and barista training resources that cover more than how to make espresso. They include everything you need to know about coffee – from how to prepare your beans and espresso machinery – to coffee recipes finished with latte art designs – and how to serve espresso beverages to customers with stylish efficiency. She is also a wealth of knowledge about the history of coffee and how to organise a coffee business.
As well as teaching classes, she also presents at conferences, social functions and events. If you would like Christine to speak at your college, conference or next event, click here.
